food beyond Fads

It’s not just about what we’re eating or hacking our bodies or optimizing ourselves. Fuck that. It’s so out of touch with how we (humans) have been living on this planet for most of our time here.

I’m genuinely curious about what feels good and what makes you excited about food. Like, makes your heart happy and your booty do the happy dance. You know the one.

Like, for me, it’s the color, the abundance, the sheer bounty, the way my taste buds light up, the fun of pairing flavors and textures — of creating something that nourishes some part of me. The freshness, the crunch, how my day changes because of it. It’s a whole ass experience.

It’s also about: how lucky are we to access to this sheer bounty and be in right relationship with the earth?

Not just taking and extracting, separating food from where it comes from and our shared community around it. It’s a goddamn miracle.

what actually works for you?

For decades, I struggled with food. I went from being able to eat whatever-the-hell I wanted to, to running to bathrooms and hoping I’d make it.

Even after finishing my Masters in Nutrition, which took me down other rabbit holes of disordered eating and health anxiety, I had to figure out what actually worked for my system. Not what the textbook said.

What didn’t leave me fatigued, foggy, gassy, and just overall miserable.

Somatics and mindfulness is what ultimately has given me back hope and turned down the external noise of all the “shoulds”. I can hear myself and know what I need to thrive.

Would you like to find out what that is for you, too?

european approach to nutrition

The way I see food, wellness, and overall health is directly informed by the time I spent living, eating, and studying nutrition in Barcelona, Spain.

Our gut health affects so much of our overall wellbeing. And our guts are affected by what we eat, our stress levels, our environments, and the emotions we don’t process.

This looks like:

  • Whole foods, slow meals, food as joy.

  • Food that supports and nourishes you.

  • Good sleep, less stress, time to relax.

  • Healing your relationship to food.

And less like:

  • Counting calories

  • Obsessing over macros

  • Prescriptive diets

  • Diet culture
